Founded in 1945 with its headquarters in Noelle, Italy, Aprilia is owned by Piaggio, the fourth largest motorcycle manufacturer in the world.
Aprilia started life manufacturing scooters and then, for many years, was associated with small capacity bikes, enjoying a succession of wins in 125cc and 250cc racing events.
In 1998 the company started to race a bigger 998cc bike called the RSV Mille, it was extremely fast and raced with success at the superbike championships.
From track to road
When the Mille went into production it quickly established Aprilia as a quality name in a superbike manufacturer.
Today, Aprilia produces bikes ranging from 50cc to 1000cc, offering everything from scooters to some of the fastest super bikes in the world.
