Why Choose a SYM Motorbike?

Sanyang Motors (SYM), Taiwan’s first motorcycle manufacturer, initially started life as a bicycle lights company in 1954.

However, in 1962 SYM joined forces with Honda Motor Japan and began producing 50cc, 150cc and 160cc motorcycles. The relationship between the two grew from there and by 1994 SYM had produced more than five million motorcycles and in the following year was awarded Outstanding Industrial Automation Manufacturer award.

Modern day SYM

In 2003 all SYM motorcycles and scooters under 125cc were fitted with the brand’s “Engine of life’ slogan, and featured ceramic coated cylinders and came with a lifetime warranty.

Taiwan then the world

In 2006 the company began to export its motorcycles, making SYM not only a household name in the Taiwanese scooter market but a presence in markets around the world as well.

Speedo plastic has broken the screen on the clock due to vibration.

Fairing does not sit true, maybe due to assembly.

Accessories are very expensive for the sym allo 125cc ???

Its a great scooter for beginers, steady on the road, good stock tires, relaible brakes and engine that starts in any weather. It has good acceleration up to 40 mph with max speed about 50 mph, and good on fuel. I have had a few Taiwaneese scooters in the past from SYM and KYMCO and have been always happy with their quality and looks. Moreover, I believe they offer the best value scooters for the money you pay.
The only negative points I could find about my SYM Symphony SR 125 are: stiff suspension (to my liking), small tank ~1 gallon (which is still enough for about 80-100 miles) and a small underseat storage (but my full-face helmet Frank Thomas L size fits in it whereas many other full-face helmets, that I tried don't).
I would recommend this scooter for someone who wants a reliable, sporty-looking and not expensive, small 125cc scooter for riding in town.
