Ducati has revealed an anniversary edition of the Panigale 1299 to celebrate its 90th birthday.

Just 500 versions of the 1299 Panigale S Anniversario will be built, featuring an all new paintjob and new technical specs.

Special gold wheels sit below white, black and red fairings inspired by Ducati’s race bikes.

There’s a special touch on the top triple clamp where each bike’s unique production number has been laser-etched on.

In terms of ride, the new Panigale should echo the Panigale R, thanks to a new steering head insert that has shifted the front wheel forward by 5mm.

Overall, weight has been slashed by 2.5kg compared to the Panigale R, thanks to a lighter battery and carbon fibre heel guards, rear mudguard and shock absorber covers added to the Anniversario’s monocoque frame.

An all-new traction control and wheelie control system has also been added, along with Bosch Cornering ABS, a Ducati Quick Shift and Electronic Suspension.

For anyone who wants it, there’s also a racing kit available, featuring an Akrapovic titanium exhaust and mirror block-off plates.
