Kawasaki unveils new Z1000 R

Kawasaki has rounded out a busy month of reveals with the unveiling of the Z1000 R.

The R version of the Z1000 comes hot on the heels of the Z1000 SX, which was revealed at Intermot earlier this month.

It comes with higher-spec brakes than the SX as well as an upgraded suspension set up that the Japanese manufacturer says gives the R more refined and responsive handling.

The brakes come in the form of Brembo M50 calipers while the high-end suspension system comes courtesy of an Ohlins S46DR1S rear shock.

It’s powered by a 1043cc, in-line-four engine which has a revised Electronic Control Unit (ECU) on-board, giving it smoother power delivery, says Kawasaki.

From the outside

From the outside, the Z1000 R comes with two new colour schemes of Metallic Graphite Grey and Metallic Spark Black to add to the standard schemes of the SX.

There are also new graphics and an embossed seat too, all of which you’ll be able to see when it arrives at Motorcycle Live next month , where prices will also be revealed.
