Special edition Thunderbird revealed by Triumph

Triumph has revealed a special edition of the Thunderbird power cruiser, called the Nightstorm.

The new model has had its chrome work toned down with its shiny surfaces blacked out.

That means a blacked out exhaust and black handlebars, as well as darkened mirrors at the front-end.

Across the fuel tank, new ghost flame livery grabs the eye thanks to a hand painted two-tone finish.

The dark theme is contrasted by the Nightstorm emblem across the bike, while the seat has been given a revamp thanks to a ribbed design and stitched panels.

Powering the Nightstorm is the same engine that’s found on the Thunderbird Storm, a big bore 1699cc powertrain.

The large-capacity engine has an output of around 97hp and 156Nm of torque available from low down in the rev range.

Its chassis is unchanged from the standard Thunderbird and the Nightstorm makes use of fat forks and ABS as standard.

The Triumph Thunderbird Nightstorm will be available in the UK in Spring 2015.

The Nighstorm special edition is the third bike that has been revealed by the British manufacturer at the EICMA international motorbike show in Milan this week.
