The return of the CRF1000L Africa Twin is confirmed, with full specification details for the adventure motorcycle finally revealed.

The iconic model has been teased over the past month with various videos, images and designs leaked across the web but only now has the Japanese manufacturer confirmed full details.

According to Honda, the new Africa Twin comes with a brand new compact parallel twin engine that generates 98Nm torque and 93hp of power.

It comes with a new lightweight frame and a dual clutch transmission (DCT) that allows riders to choose between a single manual mode and two automatic options.

They include a D mode that splits the difference between fuel economy and cruising comfort, while the S mode has three different shift patterns to give riders different levels of performance.

The bells and whistles don’t stop there with a switchable ABS system and a multi-mode Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) system, too.

As expected, the new Africa Twin looks almost identical to the True Adventure prototype that was on display at the EICMA show last November.

Prices for the latest version of the famous name are yet to be confirmed and will be revealed closer to an unconfirmed launch date.
