Yamaha reveals VMAX Infrared
Yamaha revealed its yard built special VMAX Infrared last week.
The VMAX has been customised by JvB-moto, a German custom builder, and it’s a dragster meets café racer, according to Yamaha.
It comes with a classic café racer profile accentuated by aluminium mudguards and a carbon-fibre headlight unit that’s built into the front-end.
Modified aftermarket clip-on handlebars and a carbon tank cover completes the café racer look.
Its colour scheme is based on the Yamaha GP team’s livery from the 1985 season that means an orange and grey theme across the tank.
The Infrared is one of a number of custom-built specials commissioned by Yamaha and sits in the 2015 line-up alongside the VMAX Carbon and the updated standard VMAX.
The custom versions of the VMAX have been released as a celebration of the model’s 30th anniversary – hence the numerous nods to the 1980s when the model first arrived in the UK.
