New Shark lid arrives in UK

SHARK Spartan helmet new for 2016 (header)

Shark’s latest lid arrives in the UK this month with prices starting from £299.99.

The Spartan has been developed through reverse engineering and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).

We’re told that design process is all about optimising aerodynamics and there’s no doubting that the latest helmet from the French manufacturer looks mean and brilliant.

It comes with a Shark Skin cover to help the lid stay quiet and stable at speed, and it covers the side mechanism to keep noise down.

At the back of the helmet there’s double spoiler with air extractors built-in, these help with internal cooling and an aerodynamic trail.

A Pinlock insert is included in the price, as is an integrated and retractable sun visor.

It’s Sharktooth compatible (Shark’s own hands free Bluetooth kit) and comes with all the usual bells and whistles you’d expect of a top-end helmet, including an anti-scratch visor and a double-D strap.

Moody launch video

To mark the launch of the new Shark Spartan, the makers of Jorge Lorenzo’s lids have released a very moody promotional video.

Filmed in an abandoned building, it’s full of wheelspins, drifts and moody soundtrack.
