Back in 2007, Hollywood A-lister Keanu Reeves met with world-renowned bike builder Gard Hollinger and after a few years, the pair decided to launch a new brand of custom built motorcycles. That’s how ARCH Motorcycle Company was born.
Each bike is built by hand and tailored to the customer’s specification. If you order an ARCH, you’ll meet Gard and his team via video link where you’ll discuss your preferred riding position, style and spec of components you want on your machine. The bike is then built at the ARCH facility in California and shipped to you here in the UK (or anywhere in the world, for that matter).
We’ve ridden the KRGT-1 and there really is something unique about it. When a bike is built in low volumes and entirely from custom or bespoke parts, you get something that, from the moment you turn the ignition on, feels like you’re sitting on something special. The fuel pump primes, the MotoGadget dash illuminates and you get a loud bang from the carbon exhaust as the S&S 2032 V-Twin engine barks into life, before it shudders and settles into its glorious idle.
Gear changes are positive and endless linear acceleration is on tap. But one thing that sets the ARCH apart from many other cruisers is the handling. The KRGT-1 was designed to be a true sports cruiser, which means you can cover long miles in comfort but also hustle in the twistys. The fully adjustable Ohlins front and rear suspension has been made specifically for this bike and that really does help the ARCH feel agile and keen to turn when the roads start to bend.
Park the ARCH in a public place and it very quickly draws a crowd – there is just so much to look at on the ARCH that you can spend hours taking it all in.
Now available to buy in the UK the ARCH KRTG-1 is a thing of pure beauty. Here’s our gallery of the ARCH KRGT-1 in all its glory.
