Cambridge Bikers Toy Run 2018
The Cambridge Bikers annual Christmas toy run, which provides Christmas gifts to sick children in hospital, took place on Sunday 9th December and our resident photographer was of course there to capture the day’s events.
Meeting at La Pergola Italian restaurant in Harlton, riders set off at 10am heading first to Downing Street (Downing Street, Cambridge, that is!) and then on to the Children’s Wards at Addenbrooke’s Hospital.
With 471 bikes and trikes in attendance, there definitely wasn’t a shortage of willing participants. Peter Vassey, Chief Santa and organiser of the toy run, had this to say:
“From me, and all those involved in the CBCTR, thank you. Just a simple, heart-felt thank you to all involved; thank you if you came out to cheer and wave, ride, marshal, receive gifts, thank you to all those who benefitted directly today, to the police, motos, La Pergola, just everyone.
“Thank you to the car drivers who waited patiently and apologies to those who felt inconvenienced by us doing something like this…You are wonderful people, all of you. Keep being great and doing great things and see you next year.”
