Ring of Red 2019
South Mimms Services at Junction 23 of the M25 was awash with red on Sunday as almost 200 riders on Bikes and Trikes descended in preparation for departure for the 2019 Ring Of Red (The Ride of Respect).
Riders arrived early for the 13:30 departure and were treated to glorious weather with blue skies for their onward journey to Thurrock in Essex. Whilst riders took time to enjoy the services and all the eateries South Mimms has to offers, other riders mingled and chatted all things bike.
Friend of The Bike Insurer and famous for her Pink Trike, lead rider and chief marshall Lee Betts, better known as ‘Cookie’ led the Memorial service by reading chosen poems and the Bikers Prayer. As if by fate members of the military happened to turn up and kindly took time to read a poem to the riders. After the safety briefing riders prepared to leave for the journey in attempt to create the world’s largest poppy by creating the ring of red around the M25. Our photographer was there at South Mimms to capture the morning before heading to the Next Junction at Potters Bar to capture the riders on route.
