Last year’s Pata European Junior Cup, powered by Honda runner-up Javier Orellana showed his title potential yesturday and overcome fierce competition to claim victory in the opening race of 2015 at MotorLand Aragon today. The 17-year-old from Alicante, Spain edged out Paolo Grassia by only 0.028 at the line, with fellow Italian Emanuele Pusceddu completing the podium.
Sunday’s rostrum finishers were part of an eight-rider leading pack with Mika Perez , Hannes Soomer, Matteo Ciprietti, Guillaume Raymond and Illan Fernandez, who were fourth to eighth at the chequered flag.
Bike Insurer\’s Daniel Drayton finished in 19th with fellow Brits Joah Harland in 16th and Stefan Hill finishing top Brit in 14th, Fourth Brit Sam Wilford unfortuntely suffering a DNF afer a collision on turn 1. All 4 Brits will be back in action next weekend in Assen.
Wil Sports Avalon Biddle was the top female rider with a 13th place.
