Southend Shakedown 2019: Resurrection
Southend seafront was transformed Easter Monday as over 5,000 bikers from all over the Uk headed to the Essex coast for the return of the Southend Shakedown, now named the Southend Shakedown Resurrection.
For years the motorcycle event was one of the largest in South-East England but to everyone’s dismay it was cancelled in 2018, due to funding and policing issues.
This year, local biker group Oilheads worked tirelessly to bring the Southend Shakedown back with a bang and after much negotiating with the local council, managed to succeed.
Not only did those in attendance enjoy a day of sunshine but they also were treated to live bands and plenty of trade stands, though many chose to spend the day relaxing on the beach instead.
