Moto Polo at The Mile

Moto Polo is a game that blends motorcycles and polo – it’s as mad as you’d think.

Originating in France, it’s not a sport that you’re likely to see on TV but it hogged the limelight at Kefington Hall.

The Game

It’s a non-contact sport (you’ll be pleased to hear) and players use their feet to control and pass the ball. Each team consists of five riders however there are only ever four on the pitch at the same time, with one substitute who can ‘sub’ in at any time.

The game lasts a total of 40 minutes, comprised of two 20-minute halves with 10-minutes for half time and the team with the most points at the end of the game wins.

If it’s a draw, things get interesting, with 10-minutes extra time before a penalty shoot out 20-foot away from the goal.

A two-hour exhibition match provided a brilliant insight into the game and we definitely want a go.
