Motorcycle helmets – how to get one that fits properly

Buying a motorcycle helmet can be difficult because there is a lot of choice on the market, they can cost a lot of money and they protect one of the most vulnerable parts of your body.

Because of that, you need to make sure that the motorcycle helmet you buy is right for you, not just in terms of style (we admit that’s important too!) but in terms of fit and the standard of helmet you choose.

Motorcycle helmets need to fit properly to provide the protection they’re designed to provide but it’s a fine line between getting a helmet that’s too loose, too tight or just right.

We spoke to James Egan an Arai brand representative and somebody who knows what’s what when it comes to motorcycle helmets.

Here, James talks us through how a motorcycle helmet should feel when it’s on your head, the checks you can do to make sure it fits properly and the measurements you need to take to get the basics right.
