VIDEO: Essex and Herts Air Ambulance Fun Day
Almost 2,000 bikers made the trip to North Weald Airfield on Sunday to help raise money for Essex and Herts Air Ambulance charities.
Bathed in glorious sunshine, the day began with 700 bikers meeting at Stanborough Police HQ in Welwyn Garden City before riding in convoy to North Weald where another 1,200 riders were on hand to greet them.
From there it was all the fun of the fair with live displays, music and the usual mix of shops and stalls for people to sink their teeth into.
Some of the highlights included a brilliant display from the 2Bros stunt team and from Essex Gymkhana, while the guys at Advanced Rider Training (ART) were also on hand to give taster sessions on two wheels on a fleet of brand new Herald bikes.
And it wasn’t just adults that were catered for either, with inflatable zones for children set up all day.
Jen Wall, Essex & Herts Air Ambulance Events and Volunteer Manager, said: “We were absolutely blown away by the attendance at this year’s Motorcycle Run and North Weald Family Fun Day!
“The event has doubled in size since last year, and we hope this community of bikers will be able to continue to grow. We can’t wait to welcome even more people to Police HQ and North Weald Airfield in 2018.”
At first count, the event had raised more than £10,000 for Essex and Herts Air Ambulance charities.
