VIDEO: How to check your oil level

One of the simplest checks you can do on your motorcycle is the oil level.

While it may be a simple enough check to carry out, it’s still a very important one that can save you money in the long run.

Oil cools your engine down and lubricates moving parts. That’s a vital part of an engine’s make-up because it prevents damage, potentially serious and expensive damage.

So if you don’t fancy replacing your engine, check the oil and make sure it sits somewhere in between the high and low guide marks, whether that’s on your dipstick or through the sight glass window.

Lewis Osler, Thundersport 500 rider and mechanic, talks us through how you can quickly and easily check your motorcycle’s oil levels.
