What does it take to launch a motorcycle event?

Have you ever had a brilliant idea for a motorcycle event but not done anything about it?

We spoke to Aaron Hastings, 25, one of the organisers behind the Great Yarmouth Takeover, and someone who had a great idea for a motorcycle event and did something about it.

We asked Aaron how the event came about, what’s involved from an organisation point of view and what’s in store for the event moving forward.

And it turns out, if you’ve got a good idea and a way of getting the message out, it’s quite straightforward, as Aaron outlines.

Within a year of organising his first event at Great Yarmouth sea front via Facebook, there were over 5,000 bikers involved. Three years later there were 10,000 bikes.

For Aaron, it all snowballed fairly quickly and in 2018 the aim is to make the event bigger and better again, making more money for the East Anglian Air Ambulance charity in the process.

So if you’ve ever wondered what it takes to start one of the leading motorcycle events in the south of England, here’s the answer.
