Why Choose a Honda Motorbike?

The Bike Insurer provides more insurance quotes for Honda than any other motorbike manufacturer in the UK.

That’s hardly surprising given that the Japanese manufacturer is also the bestselling manufacturer on British soil, too.

Why does Honda dominate?

One of the main reasons for Honda’s success is its wide and varied model line-up. It doesn’t just focus on small capacity scooters or rapid sports bikes, it does a little bit of everything.

From adventure bikes to tourers and 125s to super bikes, Honda does it all and does it all quite well.

I've completed a few long trips on the bike now and it was very comfortable.
Heated grips are the best invention ever and I have added a gear indicator.
These additions help make the bike even better to ride.

I learnt to ride in order to commute to a new job. I anticipated lots of traffic and expensive fuel costs with my car so took my CBT after many many years of thinking about it. I was going to buy a second hand bike but found Doble's of Coulsdon offering £300 off the price of a brand new CB125F and interest free credit. So after going down and taking a look I purchased the bike (at this point I had not yet passed my CBT!) A week later I passed the test and went to pick up the bike.

I instantly fell in love with it. Its a nice easy ride, comfortable and responsive. It looks fantastic. I was originally going to chose the blue but opted for the yellow in the end and it does stand out. It's nippy, economical, and fun to ride. I would like a bit more top speed. On the A3 on an incline the bike generally slows to between 55 - 60mph. At top speed on the flat it's topping out at around 65mph. Favourable weather and road conditions can see the bike reach 70... at a push. The gears indicator sometimes goes blank which is not really an issue per say, but if you are a little lacking in confidence and rely on the indicator to tell you what gear you're in, sometimes you can't tell.

All in all I am pleased with the CBF as a first bike, however at the first opportunity I will be upgrading my license to get a bigger bike.

Everything you read says this bike excels at nothing, but yet , somehow it manages to be more than the sum of its parts. Of course I am not a motorcycle journo, with years testing everything made, but I think it is better than that.
The essentials .........Reliability ; check. There are bikes that have done over 100K miles with nothing but service items replaced. Comfort; check , great seat and it is perfectly sprung. Build quality; definite check . Size , Another check and its a slim bike , plus of course your radiators don't get attacked by everything the front wheel throws at it as they are mounted on the sides. As for the rest, well its all good. Looks good, that V4 sounds great and you will never feel embarrassed getting off a VFR. Some bikes have this myth around them or a certain reputation. The proof is in the riding. Is the VFR as good as they say it is ? Yes, it is and I think it is better. Most are the wrong side of 15 years old now and they still do exactly what it says on the tin and a little more. If you look at the bike market, its a myth to me why these bikes are so cheap. Its a harsh reality that these days your £ doesnt go too far . I am amazed then that you can get a well looked after VFR for little cash. Decent examples seem to start at £2000 and that people , is knock down rock bottom for such a great bike. Get them whilst you still can.
